The Body Butter Bar started with one idea: a jar should be full of butter, not air.
Our core shea butter is made the slow way: dense and unwhipped, so what fills the jar is butter, not air whipped in to make it look bigger. Alongside it sits a premium whipped tallow line for the richest jar we make.
Everything is handmade in small batches in Nashville, from the butters and scrubs to the soaps, soaks and wax melts in every gift box. It is made by Chris, in Nashville, Tennessee, never mass produced.
The shop itself takes that same idea further. The Body Butter Bar is a scoop shop for skincare, built like an ice cream shop: tubs behind glass, butter scooped fresh into jars, and shelves of scrubs, soaps and soaks made in the shop. That storefront is coming soon to Nashville.
Until the doors open, the work continues the same way it started: small batches, natural ingredients, and orders taken through the one shop cart.

Shea for the core line, tallow for the premium line. That is the product, so it comes first and fills the jar.
2. Blend in small batches
Butters, scrubs, soaps and soaks are made in small batches in Nashville, scented in Holiday, Vanilla, Whiskey, Cherry Merlot or Lavender where the product calls for it.
3. Boxed by hand
Gift sets are boxed ready to give, the Butter Club ships a fresh jar every month, and every order is confirmed by reply before it goes out.

Butter first. No filler.
There is no filler in these jars, in any position. What goes in is the butter, oils, salts and clays listed on this page, and nothing padded in to fill space. The clearest example is the shea butter itself: dense and unwhipped, because whipped air makes a jar look bigger without adding any butter. The premium tallow line is the one exception, whipped on purpose for the richest jar we make, and it is labeled premium for that reason.
